I mention several reasons as to why I think this is a Do Not .

I called the Customer service and was told that it was out of warrantee. the washer is listed as a 10 year warrantee. well that warrantee is just on the motor which can be replaced in about 5 min. how ever this defect, you have to disassemble the machine all the way down to the final parts to get to the defective part that they have kept using for over 15 years.

Update:
I had no intention of repairing this washer when I disassembled it. After making and posting this video, I went online to see if I could find the part. After the first 3 sites listing the part as sold out, I found one. It seems like the average price was around $125 plus shipping. So I went to the garage, stared at all the pieces and decided to role the dice, forgo the $1200 expense of a new washer and buy the part.

If you have a mechanics type background and the thought of rebuilding a 289 ford mustang engine does not scare you, well then this will be a walk in the park for you.

Dis-assembly: took me about 50 min. with the help of a YouTube video. (Strongly recommended)
Re-assembly: took about 3 hrs. Again with the help of a YouTube video.

If you decide to take on this project, I strongly encourage you to watch the You Tube video to assist you in the dis-assembly order.

It will not cover the dis-assembly and removal of the drum, but if you’ve gotten that far with out too much hassle, then I’m sure you are able to figure out the rest on your own.

It is now 2 month after posting this video and the washer is working fine.

But make no mistake, I’m still pissed at Samsung for manufacturing the part as well as the replacement part out of a material that would have such devastating effects when interacting with the stainless steel drum.\ufeff
