Anything that's smooth and flat will work, such as mirrors, tiles, glass, laminated wood, or metal - basically anywhere a regular suction cup would work. That goes the same for where it wouldn't work as well, including cloth, your face, wood, or carpet.

I initially reviewed this case thinking this was designed for selfies but upon actual usage, it comes in really handy to attach this somewhere and just have both hands free. Yes, that includes while being on the pooper.

Cleaning is easy as well, a splash of water rinse any dirt off and then just let it air dry. My only concern is when using the nanosuction on higher spots, without knowing if it'll hold it's position or not, is risky business. I recommend always performing a wiggle test to ensure it's really stuck in place, because when it is, it's not going anywhere.
