It’s kinda weird that Apple doesn’t make an official silicon case for the iPhone XR. But to me the Apple silicon case was my favorite on the iPhone 7. So when I upgraded to the XR, naturally I wanted the same type of case. So I had to look for an alternative. And what I found was an imitation that was exactly the same kind of case Apple would’ve made.

In the video I have the white and midnight blue case which I’m sure is made in China and it looks just like an official case. Taking a closer look the packaging actually looks official! And the case even has the Apple logo on the back although I’m not sure how they did this legally. I really can’t tell the difference between this and a silicon case made by Apple. The inside is also lined with a microfiber fabric to prevent scratches which I was glad to see. They also printed the Designed by Apple in California tagline to make this look even more official.

A good reason to get this case is because the camera lens on the iPhone XR sticks out from the back. Slipping this silicon case onto my XR is easy and it fits snugly. It holds on tightly and there’s no wiggle room for the phone to move around. The back the case is raised just enough so that when you set the XR on a table, the lens no longer is in direct contact with the surface. There’s also a cutout for the ringer switch and the buttons feel responsive when I click them. And I like how on the white case the buttons are actually a light grey color.

I’m actually really happy with this imitation Apple silicon case for the iPhone XR. And for those who use wireless charging with the XR, I’m still able to charge wirelessly through this case. One thing I will say is that this phone case is a bit slippery right in the beginning. The midnight blue case became more tacky after about a week slipping in and out of my back pocket. The white case took a bit longer but eventually I wiped it down with a damp cloth a couple of times and then it definitely became more grippy.

There are more colors available and I’ll have the others listed above in the description. I’m really glad I now have silicon case for my iPhone XR even though Apple doesn’t officially make one. However that’s not entirely true, Apple does make a silicon case for the XR but it’s the one with a battery pack embedded in it which makes the case a bit thicker. So if you’re looking for a regular silicon case for the iPhone XR I highly recommend this one!
