Always check the frame of scratches and dents
Always check if there is a space or gap in between the screen and the frame. ( if there is a space most likely the screen has been replaced with a non original aftermarket screen.)
Make sure the Home and power button works properly and doesn't stick or only sometimes work.
Go to SETTINGS/GENERAL/About and check for the imei number
check this number on websites like iphoneox for the history and blacklist status
Select any app icon on your main screen and move it across the whole screen this works for checking for dead pixels or damage on the screen.
Open youtube and use this app to test the bottom speakers , wifi stability and also battery status.
Check your wifi networks to make sure there is multiple wifi access points. Suggest trying at a starbucks or mcdonalds.
Use voice memo to test your phones microphone. When your playing the file first try from the bottom speakers and than from the ear speaker. When trying the ear speaker put your finger over the top of the proximity sensor to make sure this area works correctly.
Check both cameras front and rear. Use first in camera mode and than try in video mode. Suggest running video mode recording for 5 minutes this process puts major strain on your device so it would crash the phone if there is major problems with your cpu.
